A prime minister can’t define a woman, but Riley Gaines can

It seems the prime minister of New Zealand does not know what a woman is. He was recently seen fumbling for his words when asked by a reporter, “How do you and how does this government define a woman?”

“To be honest, that question’s come slightly out of left field for me,” he responds, continuing, “People define themselves, people define their own genders.”

While a man who holds the most important position in New Zealand can’t define a woman, Riley Gaines can.

Gaines made headlines when she spoke out against trans women competing in women’s sports after tying for fifth in the women's 200-meter NCAA championship with transgender swimmer Lia Thomas.

And apparently, she’s not done speaking up yet.

Gaines took to the podium last night to discuss the issue, saying she and her teammates “were forced to compete against a biological male named Lia Thomas.”

“For three years,” Gaines says, “we watched on the side of the pool as Thomas won a national title in the 500-yard freestyle, beating out the most impressive and accomplished female athletes in the country, including Olympians and American record holders.”

Choked up now, Gaines continues, “The NCAA forced female swimmers to share a locker room with Thomas, a 6'4” 22-year-old male who was fully intact with male genitalia. Let me be clear, we were not forewarned, we were not asked for our consent, we did not give our consent.”

“I can attest to the extreme discomfort in the locker room when you turn around and there’s a male watching you undress while exposing himself. I can attest to the anger and frustration from these girls who had worked so hard and sacrificed so much to get to this point.”

Pat Gray comments, “And what was the response to her feelings about this man in the locker room?”

“‘Yeah, we’re gonna get you some counseling if you, if you’re, you know, offended by seeing a penis in your locker room.’”
