Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-N.Y.) released a statement blaming Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and fellow New York Democrats for derailing Amazon's plans to build new headquarters in New York City last week.
While Ocasio-Cortez celebrated the deal's downfall, many leftist lawmakers, including Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D), complained that the tech giant's exit was a major blow to the city's economy.
"A small group of politicians put their own narrow political interests above their community — which poll after poll showed overwhelmingly supported bringing Amazon to Long Island City — the state's economic future and the best interests of the people of this state," Cuomo said. "The New York State Senate has done tremendous damage. They should be held accountable for this lost economic opportunity."
A conservative advocacy group, Job Creators Network, erected a Times Square billboard blaming Ocasio-Cortez for the loss of "25,000 NYC jobs" and "$4 billion in lost wages."

"I think it's amazing, the response to AOC on what happened with Amazon," said Glenn Beck on Thursday's radio program.
"Progressivism, that's a job killer," he added. "It's the slow progression from a free market to a socialist market. That's what that is ... now you're getting the actual revolutionaries that want to get rid of the free market."
