'We all got screwed over in 2016 ... how do we prevent it from happening again?'
Project Veritas released an undercover video on Monday, which showed Google's Head of Responsible Innovation, Jen Gennai, saying that the tech giant has been "training our algorithms" to stop the outcome of the 2016 election "from happening again."
On Tuesday's radio program, Glenn Beck played audio clips from the Project Veritas report and talked about the impact that manipulating online information could have in the 2020 election.
"You're being manipulated in real time, right now, by Google," Glenn said. "This has ramifications for the next election, and I don't know if anyone in Washington is even going to do anything about it."
Glenn played the first clip, in which Gennai can be heard saying, "We all got screwed over in 2016, again it wasn't just us, it was, the people got screwed over, the news media got screwed over, like, everybody got screwed over so we're rapidly been like, what happened there, and how do we prevent it from happening again?" She goes on to say, "We're also training our algorithms, like, if 2016 happened again, would we have, would the outcome be different?"
In a second clip, Gennai goes on to say, "We have gotten accusations of, around fairness, is that we're unfair to conservatives because we're choosing what we find as credible news sources and those sources don't necessarily overlap with conservative sources.…"
"Is this what you've heard from Google or anybody as they're testifying?" Glenn asked. "Have you heard this from their P.R. people? That, yeah, [Google is] just picking the news sources and, conservatives, you're out of luck ... I thought they weren't manipulating anything?"
