Witnessing Whiteness: A program designed to segregate white students and shame them for being white

"In order for us to dismantle racism, white folks have to change"

Tuesday, on "Pat Gray Unleashed," Pat Gray and Keith Malinak discussed "Witnessing Whiteness," a new program Webster University in Missouri may offer in the 2019 fall semester.

The program is supposed to create a 'white space' where white students will be able to open up about their 'white privilege' and 'racist tendencies' without offending other races.

According to Fox News, "Witnessing Whiteness" has already been implemented at an elementary school, The College School, in the wake of the Ferguson, Missouri, riots.

"Those who think the program is racist misunderstand it," Vincent Flewellen, the elementary school's director of equality and inclusion, told Fox.

"In order for us to dismantle racism, white folks have to change," Flewellen said. "I think they saw participating in this as the first step in understanding and unpacking some of their own biases about race.

"As a person of color, it gets exhausting at times trying to help folks who are well-intentioned," he continued.
