Rep. Ilhan Omar was disappointed when she first arrived in America
February 05, 2020
On Monday's episode of "Pat Gray Unleashed," Pat and Keith discussed what Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) had to say about her disappointment in the first impression she had of America on the day she arrived in New York from Kenya.
In this clip, Omar claimed the orientation tapes she saw (when she came to America from a refugee camp in Kenya) promised happy families, eating full meals in their beautiful homes, and happy children getting on a bus to go to their nice schools.
But Omar claimed she was disappointed to learn the happiness that America promised was not "reality."
"This doesn't look like the America you promised," Omar recalled saying to her father. Omar went on to say that our reality is starving families, homeless people, and kids attending schools that are full of mold and leaking rooftops.
Pat set the record straight and asserted that the majority of Americans are not homeless, nor are the vast majority of Americans starving.
