Beto O'Rourke did compare police officers to Jim Crow — here's proof
September 24, 2018
During Monday's episode of "Pat Gray Unleashed," Pat discussed Friday's debate between incumbent Sen. Ted Cruz, and Rep. Robert "Beto" O'Rourke at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Pat noted that the debate was spirited and agreed with Cruz's assertion that O'Rourke did say that police officers are the "new Jim Crow."
When pressed by Cruz on his comment during the debate, O'Rourke denied ever saying that.
"What Sen. Cruz said is simply untrue. I did not call police officers 'modern-day Jim Crow'," O'Rourke said.
Pat insisted that's what O'Rourke intended to say and that Texans are finally seeing this guy for who he truly is.
Here's what O'Rourke actually said:
"That system of suspecting a person solely based on the color of their skin. Searching that person solely based on the color of their skin. Stopping that person solely based on the color of their skin. Shooting that person solely based on the color of their skin ... this begins an apt description of the new Jim Crow."
"He listed all of the police procedures that he didn't like and then compared them to Jim Crow," Pat added.
In an appearance on "The Glenn Beck Radio Program" on Monday, Pat and Glenn agreed that if we [America] loses Texas, then we've lost the country.
