Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving recently revealed that he believes the Earth is flat. Irving's support for the theory, which was definitely disproved in the early 16th century by Ferdinand Magellan's circumnavigation of the globe, earned a healthy dose of ridicule on social media.

Even famed astrophysicist and internet darling Neil deGrasse Tyson slammed Irving's "limitations of understanding of the natural world."
While Irving claims to have been simply trying to provoke a reaction with his absurd remarks, he has yet to definitively recognize the scientific certainty that our planet is indeed round.
