The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has announced a new initiative to tackle: Targeted Neuroplasticity Training.
DARPA is the agency in the U.S. Department of Defense responsible for the development of emerging technologies for use by the military. They hope to hack into the human brain in order to instantaneously download information and skills to the recipient.
Rather than taking long periods of time to learn something new, the human brain could theoretically achieve the same level of expertise in a matter of seconds. DARPA is currently funding eight different projects at seven different institutions in order to achieve this goal as soon as possible.
