Ex-CIA operative Valerie Plame apologizes for defending anti-Semitic article on Twitter

What happened?

Valerie Plame Wilson, an ex-CIA officer, and writer shared an article on Twitter headlined “America’s Jews Are Driving America’s Wars.” Twitter responded with a big “huh?????” At first, Wilson defended the piece by saying that “many neocon hawks ARE Jewish.” When the backlash grew, she changed her mind and tweeted an apology.

What does this teach us about modern fascism?

People sometimes use words like “provocative” to hide their bigotry. Plame’s apology seems questionable since she’s tweeted an article by the same author before.

“How superior she must feel to demonize an entire race of people,” Glenn Beck said on Friday’s “The Glenn Beck Radio Program.”

Glenn’s take:

Glenn gave a quick synopsis of Plame’s background; she was a CIA officer whose career was ended after a media leak during the Bush administration. The scandal was known as “Plamegate.”

“Ever since, she has been a star and a darling of the left,” Glenn said, later adding, “Liberal fascism is alive and well.”
