Millennials should emulate older generations when looking for love

Millennials should emulate older generations when looking for love

Tracy Levinson spoke with former Miss Teen USA, Danielle Doty, on Dock 2 about healthy dating in modern society after a viewer wrote in to ask where the best place is to meet people to date.

"Back to church, back to social groups where you see yourself," Danielle said. "Somewhere where you can engage and you all have the same values and beliefs."

Tracy argued that waiting for the right person is a major factor. They agreed that marrying young into an unfulfilling marriage is worse than waiting until later in life for a life-giving relationship.

"You have so much of your life that you can spend with one person. If it's the right person, it'll work," Danielle said.

Tracy also preached the value of contentment within oneself before engaging in a long-term relationship rather than seeking validation and self-worth in the love of another person:

"You can't put your hope in a human being. So even though that may be a desire in your heart — and maybe God's the one who's put that desire in your heart — you truly have to be content with yourself, content with the way you've created your own life. And then, if someone's going to come into your life that's going to enhance your life, that's awesome. But if it's not going to enhance your life, learn to be content single. Because your life can not be wrapped around a human being."
