Report: Putin is censoring parts of Russian history to cover crimes against humanity

What's going on?

In the latest report of Russian censorship, Russian historians are sounding the alarm after the authorities reportedly destroyed records documenting one of Joseph Stalin's atrocities.

Give me the details:

The historians say the Russian government directed police to destroy archive records of the registration card of Fyodor Chazov, one of the dictator's victims, Reuters reported. Chazov was sentenced to forced labor in a gold-mining camp in 1938 under Stalin.

Glenn's take:

Russian President Vladimir Putin is systematically rewriting the country's history to obscure Stalin's crimes against humanity and emphasize positives like Russia's part in World War II. It's up to us to know the facts and keep an eye on Russia's continued censorship and human rights abuses.

"He is meddling with history," Glenn said. "Vladimir Putin is systematically destroying the darkest parts of the old Soviet Union."
