Video shows soccer star dropkick, punch his cat — backlash is savage: 'Motherf**ker... try to kick me!'
February 10, 2022
West Ham United star defender Kurt Zouma has apologized after an appalling video showing him abusing his pet cats went viral. In the video, Zouma is first seen laughing as he drop kicks one of his cats. In another scene, we see him punching a cat out of a child's arms, among other abuses.

Social media was quick to react, sinking in their virtual claws:
If you are so tough mother****er, @KurtZouma, try to kick me.
What a piece of shit. No tolerance for animal cruelty.— Jan Blachowicz (@Jan Blachowicz) 1644335103
That's vile and disgusting, and what kind of roll model is that for the kids in the house...shocking, the RSPCA and West Ham need to do something about this— Adrian Toomes (@Adrian Toomes) 1644354622
i wish he try that on me..— Goliath bonjour! Hy! (@Goliath bonjour! Hy!) 1644349959

He dropkicked the cat and slapped the shit out of the cat all while people around him are laughing about it. It’s safe to assume this is not the first time based on how comfortable he is with this behavior. It’s absolutely repulsive.— Shane Richlen (@Shane Richlen) 1644316406
Sometimes there’s videos that you just wished you’d never seen. Why. Why do humans have to be like this.— Hiddenvillian (@Hiddenvillian) 1644275303

And Adidas have drop their sponsorship of him as well— Adrian Toomes (@Adrian Toomes) 1644433600
Though Zouma apologized, saying there were “no excuses for my behavior, which I sincerely regret," his cats were taken away by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals pending an investigation. Zouma was reportedly fined “the maximum amount possible,” roughly $338,000, which West Ham said would be donated to charities for animal welfare.
