This journalist is pushing back on the liberal narrative about the typical Trump voter

Who really voted for Trump?

On today's show, Glenn talked with journalist and author Salena Zito, who co-wrote "The Great Revolt: Inside the Populist Coalition Reshaping American Politics." Glenn asked for her take on the average Trump voter and what Americans wanted when they supported him for president.

Zito pushed back against the liberal narrative of what typical Trump voters are like and clarified what the famous "Make America Great Again" slogan meant to them.

"It's very aspirational ... whether you have lived here for two weeks or seven generations," Zito said. "People want to be part of something bigger than themselves."
