Colonel Mark A. Smith joins Tomi Lahren to discuss the implications with nominating General Mattis as the new Secretary of Defense. Mark doesn't understand where the critical thought process came from for General Mattis to be the selection.
"Forget the fake news that you hear about him needing a waiver, he doesn't need a waiver to become Secretary of Defense, he needs a change to the Law," Mark informs. He wonders what about him that is so compelling that we need to change Federal Law to allow him to be the Secretary of Defense.
Mark explains Donald Trump came out of a one hour meeting with General Mattis and equated him to the, "Closest to General Patton as we have." At hearing this, Mark is appalled that Trump considers him to be equal to generals of World War II.
"There is just this enamorization with celebrity right now and particularly in the Trump transition team," Mark says. "And I'm sorry three-hundred and eighty million people in this country, we have some phenomenally accomplished people who have actually done amazing things and this is what we're picking?"
