TBS plays it on a loop every year. But did you know “A Christmas Story,” the 1983 classic about Ralphie and his desire for an air rifle, was a low-budget movie that almost didn’t get made?

Produced for next to nothing, “A Christmas Story” came and went quietly when it was in theaters, but over the years it became a holiday staple for families across America.

“The Morning Blaze” guys recently shared clips of some of their favorite holiday movie classics, and Brad shared the tidbit that “A Christmas Story” had just a $4 million budget. Watch the clip (above) for one of their favorite parts of the movie.
