Watch: New money, literally: Steve Mnuchin, Louise Linton strike a pose with dollar bills
November 16, 2017
Just a couple of Republicans doing their best to relate to everyday Americans … not.
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and his new wife, Louise Linton, posed for pictures with sheets of $1 bills on Wednesday after Mnuchin’s signature was put on the dollar bill. The new notes are expected to start circulating in December.
Linton sparked criticism earlier this year after posting an image of herself getting off a military jet, adding hashtags referencing her designer wardrobe and deriding a commenter for having less money than she does.
On today’s show, Glenn mocked the decision to pose with new $1 bills as the best PR decision Republicans have made since President Donald Trump threw paper towels at hurricane victims in Puerto Rico.
