Watch: Report: Obama administration scuttled expose of a terrorist group to protect Iran deal

What happened?

Trafficking cocaine, laundering money and halting a federal drug investigation ... all in the name of a legacy? An explosive POLITICO report found that the Obama administration derailed a Drug Enforcement Administration investigation into the Iranian-backed group Hezbollah because the DEA's findings threatened President Barack Obama's nuclear deal with Iran.

Project Cassandra, the DEA campaign launched in 2008 to investigate the terrorist group, collected evidence showing that Hezbollah was running a scheme worth $1 billion annually thanks to drug trafficking, money laundering and other illegal activities.

Glenn's take:

Clearly, Obama was too ambitious to let a little money laundering and drug trafficking get in his way.

"Reconciliation with Iran and a nuclear deal that would catapult his legacy to new unreachable heights was the only thing his administration was interested in," Glenn said.
