Instead of meeting people one by one at many happy hours and networking events, you can “meet” countless people online through a tweet, a Facebook post or a LinkedIn update. Personal branding coach Valerie Sokolosky talked about the perks of using social media last week on “The Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson.”

“It gives us such a platform because you can put things out there that give the visibility to the world that we never had the opportunity to,” Sokolosky said. “It’s awesome if people will use it and feel comfortable.”
