Soldiers who return from war can struggle to get used to everyday life again. This “Building America” guest wants to help veterans heal and find purpose in their lives as they make great products.
On today’s show, Broken Gear Wear CEO Eric Kropiwnicki shared the story behind a brand working to make veterans’ lives better.
The company, which sells shirts, hats, accessories and more, is completely owned by service-disabled veterans and hires veterans as employees. Kropiwnicki explained how the company culture is geared toward veterans and gives them space to heal and become part of the workforce again.
“If [a veteran] has to go to a VA appointment, we get it. If he’s a little too stressed out and needs to go – we’re close to a beach – and kind of chill out for a little bit, we do get that,” Kropiwnicki said. “We promote that healthy environment for them also to heal as well.”
