Muslims are showing their support for the families of the victims of Monday's awful truck attack at the Berlin Christmas market where 12 were killed and dozens injured.
Authorities have announced that they believe the attack was intentional but have not yet assigned a motivation to the attacker, who is presumed to have escaped. Earlier they believed they had caught the driver, but they released the man, who was a refugee from Pakistan, for lack of evidence.
Social media carried several instances of Muslims praying for the victims:
Muslims have often been criticized for protesting against insults to their religion, but expressions of support for victims of terror aren't covered as widely by the media. While authorities have not yet called the act terrorism, German's Chancellor Angela Merkel has called it a safe assumption, even as ISIS claims responsibility for the act. This is not conclusive, however, as the terrorist group often claims credit even if they had no direct command or organization of an attack.
