Report: Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills went unpunished after lying to FBI agent with anti-Trump bias

After it was revealed that a top FBI agent was removed from special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation for anti-Trump bias, numerous questions have surfaced about the agent's involvement in both the Mueller investigation and the Clinton email investigation.

What’s going on now?

Peter Strzok, the demoted FBI agent, personally interviewed the main players in both the FBI's investigation of Hillary Clinton's private email server and Mueller’s investigation of alleged Trump-Russia ties. However, when two of the witnesses in the Clinton case lied to FBI investigators, the outcome was much different from when a key witness in the Trump-Russia investigation lied.

In the Clinton case, the Daily Caller reported that FBI documents show Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills told investigators they were not aware of Clinton’s email server until after Clinton left the State Department. However, released emails show Abedin and Mills discussing the server long before Clinton left the State Department. The two were both interviewed by Strzok and never faced criminal prosecution.

On the other hand, Michael Flynn, Trump’s first national security adviser, was charged with lying to the FBI last week for dishonest statements he gave in an interview with the FBI on Jan. 24. Strzok was the agent who interviewed him, journalist Sara Carter reported Monday.

It was also revealed Monday that Strzok was responsible for softening language that then-FBI Director James Comey used in a statement to announce the FBI would not recommend charges against Clinton.

What are the details?

According to the Daily Caller, FBI documents reveal exactly what Mills and Abedin said in their FBI interviews.

"Mills did not learn Clinton was using a private server until after Clinton’s [State Department] tenure. Mills stated she was not even sure she knew what a server was at the time,” notes from Mills’ interview say.

"Abedin did not know that Clinton had a private server until about a year and a half ago when it became public knowledge,” notes from Abedin’s interview say.

However, emails located on Clinton’s server show both aides discussing the server on more than one occasion. Emails on Feb. 27, 2010, Jan. 9, 2011, Aug. 30, 2011, all show the two aides discussing the server.

For example, on Feb. 27, 2010, Mills asked: "hrc email coming back — is server okay?" That same email also went to Abedin.

Three important questions:

1. If Flynn, Mills and Abedin all lied to the FBI, why is only Flynn charged with a crime?
2. Does this new revelation give credence to President Donald Trump's claim that there is a "double standard" in the FBI?
3. Is this a result of Strzok's bias? If so, how many cases does/has his bias affected?
