Seven-year-old Rosalyn Baldwin is on a mission.
This Louisiana girl is traveling across the country to hug a cop in every state. Why?
"I'm hugging them because they risk their lives for other people," Rosalyn told WGNO. "Because they risk their lives and they're kind and they're everything and besides, there are more good police officers than bad police officers."
So far, Rosalyn has traveled to 25 states, hugging police officers in Louisiana, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Michigan, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and Alabama.
Rosalyn’s mom is her driver, but not her inspiration. "No, I would not have thought about going to 50 states, trust me, this was inspired completely by her,” Angie Baldwin said. “She loves police officers."
Rosalyn loves the police, but she doesn’t want to be an officer when she grows up. “Too dangerous,” she says. She wants to grow up to be a veterinarian.
Her visits to police departments around the country have been documented on social media and on her website, RosalynLoves.com.
We had the honor of meeting Rosalyn Baldwin today at @GrandPrairiePD. She is traveling to all 50 states JUST to hug police officers. Her mission is our mission and we're cheering her on. She also got to meet an officer from @LVMPD who's with us in Texas! #RosalynLoves pic.twitter.com/jFcL2RG3qG— OperationBlueShield (@OpBlueShield) November 15, 2017
With half of the country left to visit, Rosalyn Baldwin reminds us all to be thankful for the men and women in blue who serve us every day and risk their lives to keep us safe.
