Democrat Sen. Joe Donnelly doesn’t want to win re-election, won’t vote for Kavanaugh

Another red-state Democrat has announced that he will not vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Sen. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., says he will oppose Kavanaugh because Senate Republicans will not ask for an FBI investigation into the allegations against Kavanaugh.

Donnelly joins Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., who announced that she would vote against Kavanaugh last week.

Donnelly is running for re-election in a state that Donald Trump won by 19 points in 2016. If Trump supporters are motivated to vote by the Supreme Court in the midterms, and polling suggests the election is trending that way, then count this seat as a pickup for Republicans come November.
