Mark Levin interviews Chip Roy and Matt McCall, candidates for Congress in TX-21

Conservative Review

Two candidates are running for Congress in the Republican primary for Texas' 21st Congressional District: Matt McCall and Chip Roy. They are vying to win the seat vacated by retiring Rep. Lamar Smith, R-Texas. Each is running as a conservative. And each has been interviewed by LevinTV host Mark Levin on his radio program.

McCall is a businessman who previously ran against Smith in 2014 and 2016, losing to the incumbent. He has pledged, if elected, to serve in the House for only six years before returning to private life. He has also publicly stated his intention to join the House Freedom Caucus. In his interview with Levin, however, he had difficulty describing what he's actually done for the conservative movement when asked by Levin to describe his record.

Roy, the former chief of staff to Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, is "fully supported" by Levin and several prominent conservatives, including Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, and conservative organizations including the Club for Growth and the House Freedom Fund. In his interview with Levin, he cited his "track record" of advancing conservative causes.

The runoff election will be held on May 22, 2018. Early voting in Texas began today, May 14, and will end May 18, 2018.
