Two sources with direct knowledge claim President Donald Trump will give a speech next Wednesday declaring Jerusalem the capital of Israel, Jonathan Swan reports for Axios.
A spokesman for the White House declined to confirm the report, saying, “The President has always said it is a matter of when, not if. The President is still considering options and we have nothing to announce.”
Trump could soon decide whether he keeps his campaign promise to move the U.S. embassy to Israel’s declared capital of Jerusalem, from Tel Aviv.
Speaking in favor of the Jerusalem Embassy Act, Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., recently said: "Israel remains the only nation in the world where an American embassy is not located in its chosen capital city."

Editor's note: A previous version of the article erroneously stated Israel is the only country in the world that doesn’t have an American embassy in its capital. We regret the error. DeSantis' statement was added after initial publish.
