The United States is under siege by a disgusting and increasingly violent form of tribal politics. The worst of it was witnessed in Charlottesville over the weekend, when violent white supremacists met violent Antifa leftists, and a person was killed.
So where does that leave the rest of us? In a tweetstorm, NRA News Radio Host Cam Edwards tries to answer that question. This is really worth the read:
Since we seem to be regressing to tribal politics, I've been thinking about what tribe I belong to. It sure ain't antifa or neo-nazis. /1

I can't stand either group, and frankly, they can't stand me. /2

Antifa hates me because I believe in individual freedom and liberty, equality for all, and think socialism is poison. /3

The neo-Nazi's hate me because I believe in individual freedom and liberty, equality for all, and think racial superiority is bullshit. /4

Also, I dared to marry a white woman with bi-racial kids. Even worse, I love them. They're my kids too. Call me "Dad" and everything. /5

See, my tribe believes that MLK's hope of one day judging by character not color is a guiding principle, not an error. /6

I cannot subscribe to an ideology that demands I rank my kids in some weird hierachy based on skin color, gender, or physical attributes. /7

My tribe knows as long as Communism and Fascism has been around, there've been Americans trying to foist them on us. /11

My tribe knows there's one big commonality to both poisonous ideologies: the death of individual liberty& freedom. They are un-American. /12

My tribe thinks it's futile to expect government to fix us. Politics is downstream from culture. /20
