Right after the presidential race was called for Barack Obama last Tuesday night, I tweeted: "Four more exhausting years of economic destruction, presidential lies, and national collapse."

In other words, more of same from the Skinny Socialist and his radical redistributionist agenda. And here we go.

Just today, we get these headlines (also seen at DrudgeReport.com): First-time jobless claims spiked 78,000 last week to a whopping 439,000-- the highest level in 18 months. Inflation is climbing. Denny's has become the latest business (and American icon) to begin layoffs and cut employees' hours because of the oppressive costs and regulations of ObamaCare. Denny's joins Applebee's and Papa John's, among others, who have said they must retrench to deal with the increased costs.

The poverty rate has spiked, with nearly 50 million Americans at or below the poverty line. A record number of Americans are also on food stamps: 48 million.

Call it the Obama Effect.  This is what his ideology---radical wealth redistributionism, socialism, statism, progressivism, whatever you want to call it---produces.  Throughout history, in EVERY place it's been tried, it has ALWAYS produced this result: equality of misery, poverty, and destruction.

For Obama and the Far Left, this is precisely the objective. Grow government, adpot policies that will cripple the economy, get as many people dependent on government as possible through the crappy economy, lock in the dependency for life, and voila! They get their permanent Democrat voting  majority.

Normal Americans look at this economic situation and see a disaster. Obama and the Far Left look at it and see a wild success.

Remember: it's all by design.
