Rep. Ilhan Omar issues apology for anti-Semitic remarks, then walks it back. Linda Sarsour jumps to her defense.

'I unequivocally apologize. At the same time, I reaffirm the problematic role of ... AIPEC'

Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar apologized Monday on Twitter after she faced intense backlash from senior House Democrats over anti-Semitic statements.

"Anti-Semitism is real and I am grateful for Jewish allies and colleagues who are educating me on the painful history of anti-Semitic tropes," Omar wrote. "My intention is never to offend my constituents or Jewish Americans as a whole. We have to always be willing to step back and think through criticism, just as I expect people to hear me when others attack me for my identity. This is why I unequivocally apologize."

"At the same time, I reaffirm the problematic role of lobbyists in our politics, whether it be AIPEC (American Israeli Public Affairs Committee) the NRA or the fossil fuel industry," she added, doubling down on a Sunday tweet in which she claimed AIPAC pays politicians to support Israel.

Shortly before Omar issued her apology on Twitter, Women's March activist Linda Sarsour took to Facebook to support "our sister Ilhan Omar" and her statements against AIPAC in the following post:

On Tuesday's radio program, Glenn Beck and Stu Burguiere reacted to Omar's non-apology and talked about Sarsour's part in the controversy.
