'Enough evidence to warrant a criminal investigation': Ethics complaint filed against Ilhan Omar for alleged fraud

'We've got to remind these members that they're not above the law'

Judicial Watch, a public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, filed an ethics complaint with the House of Representatives' ethics office on Tuesday against Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar (Minn.) for allegations of immigration, marriage, tax, and student loan fraud. Read more here.

Tom Fitton, the president of Judicial Watch, joined Glenn Beck on the radio program Wednesday to discuss the details.

"The mainstream media makes this into a conspiracy theory or they say this is just crazy right-wingers, but ... these are serious, serious crimes," Glenn said. "I believe [there] is enough for an indictment and a call for a grand jury. I gather you're at the same place?"

"There's certainly enough evidence to warrant a criminal investigation," Tom said. "It's pretty hard now for the Justice Department to ignore it, the Department of Homeland Security, the IRS. And, you know, there's a political process for handling ethics concerns related to this type of activity, which is what we're pursuing with the House. We're not naive in the interest of Democrats to do this but we've just got to try to make the system work. We've got to remind these members that they're not above the law, and hold other members accountable if they're going to try to let them get away with it."
