Vacationers were enjoying their last hours aboard a luxury cruise liner Sunday when passengers spotted a small raft carrying six Cuban refugees floating in the Atlantic Ocean.
Royal Caribbean's Monarch of the Seas was sailing back to Port Canaveral, Fla., from the Bahamas when it approached the sinking raft carrying five females and one male bound for the U.S. from Cuba. The raft's passengers were picked up and received food, water and medical treatment. But once the cruise liner reached U.S. shores, the Coast Guard was waiting to take them into custody.
