TIME Names Woman's Abortion Tweets as Some of 2010's Best

"You, too, can have an abortion"

In its annual "Top Ten" list, TIME magazine named Angie Jackson, the woman who live-tweeted an abortion she had this year claiming the social media could help "de-mystify" the practice.

Jackson's abortion tweets came in at #6 on TIME's list of top tweets:

According to TIME's account, Jackson's birth control "failed," leading to her controversial plan to use RU-486 -- the "abortion pill" -- to end the pregnancy.  But NewsBusters' Jill Stanek points out that this claim is false.  "In actuality," Stanek notes, "she wasn't using any (birth control)."

Other top tweeters of the year (according to TIME) include John McCain's tweets to Jersey Shore's "Snooki"; Sarah Palin's plea to Muslims to "refudiate" the proposed Ground Zero mosque; Kanye West's apologetic tweet to Taylor Swift; and Lindsay Lohan's "Eeeks" tweet before her (first) stint in jail.

Jackson's latest tweet to her followers is a non-holiday greeting: "Happy Mythmas to all and to all a good night!"
