WASHINGTON (AP) — Rep. Patrick Meehan says a shooting on U.S. soldiers in Germany looks like it could be a terrorist attack.
Meehan made clear he did not have all the facts about the shooting and was still being briefed by his staff.
Meehan, a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, made the remarks Wednesday as he was wrapping up a hearing about al-Qaida. Meehan is the chairman of the subcommittee that focuses on terrorism and intelligence.
Police in Germany say a gunman fired shots at U.S. soldiers on a bus outside a Frankfurt airport, killing the bus driver and a passenger. Two others were wounded before the gunman was taken into custody.
Police would not say whether any of the casualties were U.S. military personnel.
