TSA Fires Spell-Casting Officer Who Complained About Lax Airport Security

"I would call for a bag check...I couldn't get anyone to come over....I actually had to demand them to search the bag."

I've put a spell on you...

MSNBC reports:

Airport security officer Carole Smith was fired from the TSA after a co-worker accused her of witchcraft and putting a hex on her car. Her termination also came after she complained about lax security.

Though admitting to practicing Wicca, Smith claims she can't actually do hexes. "If I could do that, if I had the power, and really thought that I could do something like, I wouldn't have been working for TSA." Smith worked as a TSA officer at New York's Albany International Airport.

Though the TSA claims that she wasn't fired for being a witch, her termination letter does mention this fact about her, along with a litany of other reasons (being late, taking a break without permission, yelling at a supervisor).

But her personnel file tells a different story. Apparently, she was a whistleblower: she repeatedly complained about the TSA being too lax in its security measures.

After she was accused of putting a spell on a co-worker, she claims that other officers even harassed her for being a witch and discriminated against her. "I would call for a bag check...I couldn't get anyone to come over....I actually had to demand them to search the bag."

According to the report, Smith wants people to know that witches are not dangerous. What's dangerous is the TSA's lackadaisical approach to security.
