The Video That Shows an NHL Hockey Player Flipping Off the Crowd Glove Getting 'Stuck
April 22, 2011
"I think my glove got caught up."
When you score a goal in a playoff hockey game, you're not supposed to turn to the opposing fans and flip them the bird. And despite video that seems to show Boston Bruins player Andrew Ference doing just that, he's defending himself with an odd claim: his glove got stuck.
Here's how he defended the gesture to ESPN.com:
"It looks awful; I just saw it," he said of the replay. "I can assure you that's not part of my repertoire. I think my glove got caught up. I can assure you that's not part of who I am or what I ever have been. It looks awful. I admit it and I completely apologize to how it looks. I was putting my fist in the air. I'm sorry. It does look awful. I don't know what else to say."
Here's the video. You decided. And if you come down on the side of he's flipping you off, then here's your CONTENT WARNING for an obscene gesture. But if you agree that his glove got stuck, then enjoy the wardrobe malfunction:
