A-list director and writer David Mamet is an Oscar and a Tony Award-nominee and a Pulitzer-Prize winner. A true rarity, this successful Hollywood screenwriter has "come out" (as Fox put it) as a political conservative. This, of course, can be tough in a world that is dominated by left-leaning minds.
In an interview with FOX News, Mamet discusses why he stopped embracing liberalism. He chats about Hollywood's "herd mentality" and says that "...the essence of liberalism as I understand it, in its aspect of being a religion, is that you have to protect the lie."
Mamet has a new book out entitled, "The Secret Knowledge" in which he discusses his conservative views. Watch the interview below:
