Oops: Presidential Limo's Seal Blows Off, Recovered From Philly Freeway
July 03, 2011
The official seal affixed to President Barack Obama's limousine blew off Thursday while Obama was en route from a fundraising trip in Philadelphia — and the Secret Service initially couldn't find it.
Agents scoured Interstate 76 but came up empty, unable to find the magnetic piece in the dark, CNN reported. A Philadelphia police officer found it on the side of the road the next day.
"It happens periodically," Secret Service spokesman Ed Donovan told CNN. "They're only magnetic. They're not put on any special way."
