In an effort to avoid any perceived conflict of interest, most news publications try to paint a clear line between their editorial content and the advertising that supports it. But sometimes the obvious is overlooked.
That was the case Monday for a story the Anchorage Daily News ran on its website about a group of teenagers that was attacked by a grizzly bear while on a trip through the mountains in Alaska. Check out the advertisement the site ran at the top of the same page the story was on:
Don't bother trying to see for yourself. The unfortunate ad placement has since been taken care of.
