The Moment a Cliff Jumper Nearly Fell 590 ft. After Parachute Mishap

This video will make your stomach to back flips, much like the jumper featured in it. But at least it has a palatable ending.

Lucky Chance -- yes, that's really the name the site Gizmodo uses for him -- was performing a cliff jump using something called the Death Swing. Basically, he attached a rope to a cliff, jumped off, and then let go as he was swinging out. It's the same idea as a rope swing over a river or lake, but Chance has a parachute that breaks his fall on the way down.

But something went horribly wrong when Chance let go. He got tangled up, and actually prevent his own chute from opening. As he flipped wildly, he thought it was the end. But then, miraculously, it opened. Just in the nick of time.
