Meet the Man Who Builds Amazing Giant Slingshots -- And See Them in Action
August 08, 2011
When you were a kid messing around with a slingshot in your backyard the worst that could happen would be you breaking a window. Maybe even the slim chance of fulfilling your mother's premonition and greatest fear that you'll "shoot your eye out." Mothers, hide your 10-year-old sons.
Meet Joerg Sprave, editor of the The Slingshot Channel on YouTube. Sprave uses his above average carpentry skills to create "slingshots" that could perhaps better be labeled as handheld guillotines or vampire stake guns. Check out this video of his latest creations which he uses to shred through massive pieces of frozen meat:
While Sprave seems pretty nice for a guy who makes deadly slingshots, I'm sure that I was not the only one who closed their eyes when that horde of cats showed up on the screen around 2:04.
Sprave has a separate slingshot channel blog where he displays his latest work, gives directions on how you can make your own super slingshots, and raffles off slingshot prizes to commenters.
In the past, he's has uploaded 166 equally incredible slingshot videos on Youtube, including personal favorites such as:
"Decapitating Zombies with a Slighshot:"
and "Slinghshot vs. iPhone!":
Apparently, Sprave will be featured in a special for Discovery Channel Canada that is already in the works, as well as an upcoming German television show which has released this epic trailer for his appearance.
