Beck Chooses 'Principled' Michele Bachmann as His Presidential Pick

Rick Santorum is his second choice.

During his Thursday radio program, Glenn Beck said that if the 2012 election were taking place today, Michele Bachmann would be his first pick for President of the United States.

Following rules that he himself set, Beck said he would only choose from candidates who have officially entered the ring. He also places emphasis on candidates who stick to their principles. With that in mind, Bachmann is Beck's first choice, however, Rick Santorum is a close runner up:

"Michele Bachmann is no lightweight," Beck said. "Neither is Rick Santorum. Neither one of them are going to give on their principles."

Beck, who has interviewed Bachmann on a multitude of occasions, once even stated that he thinks Bachmann should run as Florida Rep. Allen West's vice presidential nominee.

Beck believes they would also be well equipped to defend America from the havoc the Obama administration might wreak if it loses in 2012.

"I firmly believe that race riots are on the way," Beck said. "They are being encouraged...[the Obama administration] will take this country down. If it looks like they are losing, the uber left, they will take it down. If I can't have it, no one will."

Beck also stated that Romney would "decimate" Obama moving into 2012 in addition to the former Massachusetts governor being able to secure backing from Wall Street.
