California Man Who Threw Son Off Boat Speaks Out

"I have been teaching them to swim quite extensively..."

On Monday The Blaze reported on the disturbing story of a California man named Sloan Briles who was arrested for throwing his seven-year-old son off a sightseeing cruise boat during an argument. He was arrested for child endangerment and resisting arrest.

Although Briles allegedly jumped into the water to rescue his son, the boy was saved by another boater. The boy and his brother were then returned to their mother’s care, but Briles says it was “horse play.”

Briles told Fox News host Trace Gallagher, “there was absolutely no hitting of my son."

"As a young child, I have been teaching them to swim quite extensively...I have no intention of hurting my son. I love my son very much. This whole thing is coming such a huge surprise to me.”

Does Briles suggest he was helping the boy improve his breast-stroke by tossing him overboard?
