Stephen Colbert Mocks ‘Days of Rage’ Protesters

"Because if there's one thing New Yorkers never ignore, it's people sleeping in a park."

The Days of Rage protest to "occupy Wall Street" has been starting to garner more headlines as of late. But those headlines may not be what the protesters had in mind. Not only has Gawker mocked the gathering, but now even Stephen Colbert has started panning the protests.

During a segment on his show last night, Colbert tried to make sense of it all. But really couldn't.

"Because if there's one thing New Yorkers never ignore," Colbert quipped, "it's people sleeping in a park."

He went on to mock the group's "one demand" of Barack Obama, since a blog post associated with the group didn't really know what its one demand was.

Still, as with all Colbert and Jon Stewart clips, Colbert was able to take some digs at conservatives, and he did by delving into corporate greed during a segment where he interviewed some protesters. But those interviews also included a man who wears a fur hat and does puppet shows on the subway. Seriously.

You can watch the segment below (which does include a few curse words):
