Maurice Sendak, the children's author best known for "Where the Wild Things Are," isn't a fan of Republicans. He kind of thinks they're fools. "These Republican schnooks would be comical if they weren't not funny," he said in an interview with The Guardian.
Not to worry. Sendak, 83, doesn't come off as someone with a generally sunny disposition. He even talked trash about the guy who publishes his books: Rupert Murdoch. "Yes! Harpers. He owns Harpers and I guess the rest of the world, too," he said. "He represents how bad things have become. But I don't know a better [publishing] house. They're all in trouble. They're all terrible."
