Jimmy Kimmel tapped to emcee WHCD

The White House Correspondents' Dinner is half a year away, but late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has already been chosen to emcee the event, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"I look forward to being a part of the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner," Kimmel said in a statement. "I love dinner."

The comedian was chosen by the White House Correspondents' Association. "We are thrilled that Jimmy has accepted our invitation to be the featured comedian at our annual dinner," WHCA chair and Reuters journalist Caren Bohan said, also praising Kimmel for his "sophisticated and edgy" humor.

You might recall the last WHCD was hosted by "Saturday Night Live" writer Seth Meyers and a cold-faced Donald Trump took a severe comedic beating during President Obama's speech.
