Louisiana Teen Could Face Jail Time After Posting Duck Hunting Photos on Facebook

A 19-year-old Louisiana man was cited after he posted photos on Facebook from a recent duck hunting trip displaying the 64 waterfowl he had shot.

Louisiana's Department of Wildlife and Fisheries cited Brandon Lowry for violating state game limits, shooting over the limit for blue-winged teal ducks.

Agents were alerted to Lowry's photos, which prompted an investigation, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reported.

According to a department release, Lowry admitted to investigators he shot over the limit, capped at four per person per day, as well as went over his two-day possession limit of eight.

Louisiana penalties for migratory bird limit violations are fines between $400 and $950, up to 120 days in jail, or both. Additionally, hunters face court costs and forfeiture of anything seized for each offense, according to the department.
