What's left to "occupy"? President Obama's old campaign message.
Shepard Fairey's claim to fame in politics is being the creator of the ubiquitous "Hope" painting of then-Senator Obama in the 2008 presidential election.
Now he's turned a slightly modified version of the art work into an image to represent the Occupy Wall Street movement. Of the painting, Fairey wrote on ObeyGiant.com:
[A]s flawed as the system is, I see Obama as a potential ally of the Occupy movement if the energy of the movement is perceived as constructive, not destructive. I still see Obama as the closest thing to “a man on the inside” that we have presently. Obviously, just voting is not enough.
