Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman swapped the campaign trail for 30 Rockefeller Center Saturday, making a real-life appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Appearing on the show's "Weekend Update" segment, the former Utah governor spoke with host Seth Meyers about his New Hampshire efforts, just eight weeks off from the state's primary.
Meyers said he wanted to start with something never heard at any of the GOP debates: "Governor Huntsman, the first question is for you."
Asking about his standing in the polls, Meyers pointed out that nationally Huntsman is only in the low single digits.
"It is true Seth. But only a few months ago, I was polling at margin of error, so to have any digit at all is a pretty big deal," Huntsman said.
Illustrating his focus in the Granite State, Huntsman peppered the conversation with glowing facts about the state, even deeming New Hampshire native Meyers "as wise as a Dartmouth professor."
When Meyers said both his parents still live there, his mother a registered Democrat and his father an independent, Huntsman said, "Say hi to your dad for me."
