After a few days overseas, President Obama hosted what he called a "welcome home party" at the White House on Monday. The music and special guest selection: country.

[A]rtists that attended included The Band Perry, Dierks Bentley, Alison Krauss, Kris Kristofferson, Darius Rucker, and Kris Kristofferson."At its most pure, that’s what country music is all about -- life in America. It’s about storytelling -– giving voice to the emotions of everyday life.," said Obama, "Brad Paisley put it simply: 'This is real, this is your life in a song. This is country music.'"
