The threat of domestic Islamism is real -- and it's here

It's something those worried about political correctness don't want to talk about -- or maybe they even want to deny it: Our nation is at risk from Islamic radicals from within.

Thankfully, here at The Blaze magazine, we don't suffer from PC insanity. Instead, we confront tough topics head on.

In the new issue of The Blaze magazine, we have a great feature story by Billy Hallowell examining the threat of Islamism in America.

Since the Sept. 11 terror attacks, radical Islam has been a major factor coloring the United States’ domestic and international policies. With glaring holes in America’s national security exposed, officials were forced to consider the threat radical Islam poses to the American way of life. Considering various events, public statements from terror groups and ongoing U.S. intelligence information, it has become clear that homeland Islamist threats continue to endanger the nation.

Over the last decade, numerous domestic attacks have either unfolded or have been thwarted -- corroborating fears that a threat to the American way of life could come from within our borders.

It has taken efforts by brave congressional leaders such as House Homeland Security Chairman Peter King, R-N.Y., to tackle the issue. Rather than focusing on the threat of radicalism in general as the Obama administration has done, King and other non-PC leaders and analysts have placed a major focus on the dangers posed by extremist Muslims.

In his exclusive report, Hallowell breaks his examination of the threat of radical Islam into four main areas:

1. Radical Islam on the whole

2. Radicalization in U.S. prisons

3. Somalia-based and al Qaeda-linked terror group al-Shabaab and its connections here in the U.S.

4. The danger posed to U.S. troops as a result of radicalization in and targeted at the military.

Remember this guy?

When you read the piece -- only in The Blaze magazine -- you'll see that Hasan was just the tip of the iceberg.

And don't forget about the Muslim Brotherhood. We have to figure out how we're going to deal with them and other radical Islamist groups in the Middle East. But the current administration isn't building anyone's confidence about how we'll handle them.

But they're not not just in the Middle East. They're here.

As long as political correctness reigns and political and moral courage are in short supply in Washington, protecting the country from real domestic Islamist threats will remain on the back burner.
