Santorum supporter makes another joke, everyone notices

Foster Friess, the guy with deep pockets pumping money into Rick Santorum's Super PAC, made a joke about the contraceptive issue on MSNBC today. Predictably, as it happens any time any public figure makes a joke about anything, political news media have picked it up and run with it.

In his appearance on "Andrea Mitchell Reports," Friess said:

"This contraceptive thing. My gosh, it's so inexpensive. Ya know, back in my days they used to use Bayer Aspirin for contraceptives. The gals would stick it between their knees and it wasn't that costly."

Anchor Andrea Mitchell clutched her pearls. "Excuse me, I’m just trying to catch my breath from that, Mr. Friess, frankly," she said after a pause. Somebody get her a hot cloth!

The issue for most in media, apparently, is Friess use of the word "gals." That's the specific word that keeps coming up quoted in headlines.

For anyone unfamiliar with Friess, it turns out he's funny. He told another funny joke at CPAC last week: "A conservative, a liberal and a moderate walk into a bar. The bartender says ‘Hi, Mitt,'" he said.

See? Funny.
